Ted-
I'm going to stand outside and ask everybody leaving the theater give me their stubs. Then I'm going to mail them to you, so that you wind up financing my next project. I'll make sure to give you an executive producer credit.

What it's really a vote against is all the Little Miss Sunshines and Year of the Dogs that are now becoming the defining detritus of Sundance.
These are the films that are killing art film in the U.S.

I saw the film today. I won't be taking Ted Hope up on his offer -- I got full sastisfaction. It's a beautiful, nearly visionary movie, and Paul Giamatti's performance is amazing. If you like Terence Malick's work, if you were moved by KILLER OF SHEEP or GEORGE WASHINGTON or OLD JOY, you should see this -- it's poetic cinema of a rare kind, and of rare quality.
Thanks to that noxiously ignorant pan in the Times, it may have a very limited run at Cinema Village, so everyone should check it out ASAP. Besides, it really deserves to be seen on the big screen.
