Philippe Petit's brief bit of coin sleight-of-hand and Oscar chin-balancing when James Marsh's
Man on Wire won the Oscar was one of the more entertaining moments at this year's Academy Awards. Now,
on his website, New York magician David Blaine posts a video of a kind of magical face-off that occurred when he ran into the French tightrope-walker on the street.

I want to see the video where Petit hogties Blaine and ass-rapes him with the Man On Wire Oscar statuette, while yelling: "Who's the bitch now?! Who's the bitch now?!"

Philippe is an adopted national treasure to the USA. He is like a fine wine to be savored. His amazing walk between the North and South Towers of the WTC unified a city that was initially at odds regarding the monolithic structures which were totally out of scale with the rest of the skyline. Then one magical morning Philippe appeared and did his thing. From this day forward New Yorkers began to love the towers for Philippe had humanized them for us bringing us great joy. Even the judge in charge of his case liked him. His sentence of doing community service work by performing for children in Central Park was totally appropriate. Jail time was not an option. So thanks, Philippe for helping us love those towers. We all miss them now that they are gone. I wish you could have done just one more walk between the towers. I am in total awe of you.
