And to give credit where credit is due, I first heard of this via Reed Martin (Twitter@ TheReelTruth). But yeah, if not war, let's at least have a moratorium. I know I have been guilty of some cliches, including some not on this list.
To add to the list: what about characters going under water in a bath tub? Or cute kids or charming old people saying outlandish things about their body parts (or sex in general)?
