The festival creates unparalleled business and creative opportunities for diverse communities. Brazil developed in the recent past an incentive program fostering international co productions and fiscal rebates for local filming of international films.
HBRFEST is the first Hollywood-based film festival dedicated to addressing the cultural and commercial exchange between Hollywood, The World Film Community and the Brazilian Film Community, also promoting seminars and meetings for film industry executives, producers, distributors and film commissions. Among recent American films recently shot at least partially in Brazil are Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Incredible Hulk and Blindness. Recent prominent Brazilian films are the Berlin Festival winner Elite Squad and the Best Actress Cannes winner this year, Walter Salles’ Linha de Passe.
