The JackandJill Case
The JackandJill case first came to light just over a year ago when a video tape was sent anonymously to the Metropolitan Police. The tape candidly chronicled a short killing spree by a young disturbed couple. After a preliminary investigation, which failed to unearth any supporting evidence and raised doubts about the tape's authenticity, the case was closed. A non-disclosed source within Scotland Yard, who was unsatisfied with the abrupt outcome of the investigation, handed a copy of the tape to a newspaper journalist. The newspaper in question was unwilling to publish the story in the wake of other recent high profile murder cases. It was felt that unless the tape could be fully authenticated it would be inappropriate to run the story. It was felt however that it was in the public interest to disseminate this information by whatever means available. jackandjill.tv therefore came into existence as both a means to draw public attention to the case and hopefully to gather information.
