The Acting Gym
Based on the Stanley Drama Award Finalist play by Linda Hanson, "Lower Than the Angels" is adapted here for the screen by Russ Camarda and his Acting Gym Productions. The film, shot on Long Island and in New York City is produced and financed solely by the filmmaker.

Through a relationship with one woman, her special child, and two priests, "Lower Than the Angels" explores the dual nature of man.

Lena Crosetti's life's work has become caring for her 12-year-old daughter Angela, who has been in a persistent vegetative state for nine years.  Claims that the child is performing miracles have reached the Bishop, who sends Father Clemente, a Jesuit priest to investigate.  Through his meetings with Lena and Father Dominica, the parish priest who remains loyal to Lena, Clemente remains steadfast in his belief that these claims of miracle healings are all a hoax. He is determined to discover what secrets Lena and Dominca are really hiding. Pushing his investigation to the edge, ultimately Father Clemente finds he has come to Lena and her miraculous daughter to confront his own demons and to discover his place as a priest and a man.

All My Life For Sale
An online project that explores our relationship to the objects around us, their role in the concept of identity, as well as the emerging commercial systems of the Internet. Using the public/commercial space of the online trading community eBay in conjunction with his online catalogue Allmylifeforsale.com, John Freyer catalogued and sold nearly everything that he owned, from his kitchen cutlery to his personal hygiene products, his "Star Wars" sheets and finally even the domain name Allmylifeforsale.com itself. (Now owned by the University of Iowa, Museum of Art) To date he has sold more than 600 items including his false teeth, a full size office copier, personal photographs, and his winter coat (in the middle of the winter). Each item — whether spectacular or mundane — began trading at one dollar. When the auction had ended, he sent each of the high bidders details about the project as well as a brief history of the object s/he had purchased. Freyer then requested updates from each bidder on his/her new object and incorporated these updates — including written feedback and photographs of Freyer's former possessions in their new homes —into Allmylifeforsale.com. In August of 2001 he embarked on a journey to visit the various places where his items had ended up, his travels were chronicled on his ongoing travelogue site Temporama.com.

The Alladeen Project
The Alladeen project encompasses three collaborative works: the web project, www.alladeen.com (directed by Ali Zaidi); a cross-media stage performance (directed by Marianne Weems); and a music video (directed by Ali Zaidi and Keith Khan), featuring music by Shrikanth Sriram (Shri) and video by Peter Norrman. Although distinct, these three works have been created in tandem, drawing on a common pool of imagery and information, with material from each interwoven into the others.
As a whole, the Alladeen project explores how we all function as "global souls" caught up in circuits of technology, how our voices and images travel from one culture to another, and the ways in which these cultures continually reinterpret each other's signs and stories.

Assisted Living
"Assisted Living" chronicles a day in the life of Todd, a janitor who spends his days smoking pot and interacting with the residents for his own entertainment. Todd's detachment from his surroundings is compromised only by his unlikely friendship with Mrs. Pearlman, a resident who begins to confuse him with her son. On this particular day, Todd must choose whether or not to play the part.
