Randy Quaid’s recent $10 million lawsuit against Focus Features, Del Mar Productions, and producers David Linde and James Schamus, over his payment for performing in Brokeback Mountain has raised lots of interesting questions about the role of mini-majors, the fate of independent film, the need for name actors, as well as the sanity of Mr. Quaid.
